Judging the C-CAP Finals on June 1st, 2014
On June 1st, 2014, I have the honor of being able to judge the Finals for the C-CAP Competition. C-CAP stands for Careers through Culinary Arts Program and is a program that strives to provide career options for underprivileged youth who have an interest in the culinary industry.
In the past, I have donated free Master Chef Programs ($2,500) in support of this program. One of my favorite C-CAP stories revolves around a young student named Jake who received a scholarship for the Master Chef Program through a C-CAP scholarship. After graduating from my 18 Week Master Chef program, Jake went on to be an assistant at my culinary school and helped out with classes for both kids and adults.
I’m excited to be judging the C-CAP Finals on June 1st because I truly love culinary judging. When I was in culinary school, the teachers I remembered the most were the ones that judged and gave good constructive criticism. Now, as a culinary professional, I love to give that constructive criticism and feedback to other aspiring culinary professionals. I hope, in the next few years, that I will have the opportunity give my professional culinary judging opinion in more circumstances. I truly want to be the best culinary judge LA has ever seen, because that will allow me to help more aspiring culinary professionals hone their skills!
