Kids Camp Success Story: Dara Yu from MasterChef Junior

If you watched MasterChef Junior in the fall, you have seen one of my Kids Camp success stories come to life!  The runner-up to winner Alexander Weiss was Dara Yu, who used to be one of my former Kids Camp students.
I remember Dara in my classes – she was very enthusiastic, willing to help others, and genuinely loved being in the kitchen.  I helped Dara prepare for her MasterChef Junior interview, and I gave her advice after the program completed regarding what catering companies she should work for.
The key point that I want to stress here is that Dara started out as most of my students do: interested in pursuing a career in the culinary arts and willing to learn.  When she put her mind to it, she accomplished and learned so much in the two Kids Camps she took with me.  Then, she found herself competing on national television!
